Dear Son (A dad’s Amazing Letter To His 7 year old )

Dear Son,

This letter is to you my dear 7 year old son. Trying to look at the world through your eyes, and I can imagine how complex yet fun life seems. Son, you play over 10 hours a day and you don’t get tired of it. I love your energy and I love looking at your beautiful face and smile. You’re only 7 yet, you and I engage in insightful discussions. It is why I enjoy activities to do with my son. You’ve always looked like me,  and I love this fact. Since the first day I held you in my arms I’ve loved you.

I want you to grow into a strong, smart boy. You could be a  little taller than me and I want you to be better than me in all. I will always be interested in playing, biking, adventures and other activities do with my son.

Dear son

, You’re just 7 and there are many questions in your heart, this is certain. One day you’ll get most of the answers you need. But I must let you know that you may not get all your answers. Many things may look and appear differently to you now but as you grow older, some things become clearer. You must always take responsibility for whatever you do or ought to do.

You should never doubt that I love you very much. Your young mind knows that you’re the most important thing in my life, and no matter what happens, I will always be there for you. I hope that as you grow older, we can continue to have a strong relationship. I know that as you grow older, there will be times when we don’t agree with each other, but I promise to always listen to what you have to say.
J, I know you love to play a lot now and you probably think that the world is all about being happy and having fun, I hope you continue to be happy my dear son. There’s more to life and the world, but as you grow older you’ll live and learn. Everyone has to grow through life uniquely. No two lives are the same. But as you go through life, I want to be there to support you, cheer you on, and celebrate your successes. I also want to be there for you when you face challenges. I promise I will be there son.

Hoping that I can teach you important lessons that will help shape you into a kind, responsible and intelligent young man. One of the most important things I want to teach you is how to treat others with respect. No matter what situation life brings, always remember to show kindness towards everyone around you – even when it’s not easy.

Life is full of new experiences and exciting adventures. Things won’t always go the way you want them. You can throw tantrums now but when you grow older, it won’t make sense if you throw tantrums. You may not be able to throw it even.  However, you can always tell me anything. You can count on me always. No matter how tough your challenges are, tell me . Your dad wants to know everything that happens to you.

A man and his son

You must never feel bad whenever you make mistake

Although now you are so young as you grow older you will make more mistakes. All of these are part of growing up. I’ve always told you my story, how I grew into the man I am today. One day when you’re older and can understand better, I will tell you more. I see you cower and sad whenever you’re told you’re wrong. Sometimes you cry. You should not feel so sad about mistakes. Mistakes make you grow as a person. They can be tough, and but they are an essential part of life. Every mistake you make allows you to learn and become stronger.

I may not always know what to do with a 7 yr old son, but I will always give my best so you can do well. There are different father-son activities for a 7yr old son too, I promise we can engage in some of them. Like biking, camping, painting together and playing videos games.

You don’t have to do it all alone. I will always be with you, but during the times I can’t be around, surround yourself with people who are supportive and encouraging; people who believe in your dreams and support you when times get tough. Spend time with family and friends who will lift your spirits, build your confidence and help bring out the best in you. Those relationships are invaluable!

Life is full of new experiences and exciting adventures. As you grow older, you will learn more, see more, and experience more. Your mind will continue to expand and open up new possibilities. You’ll learn that it’s ok to make mistakes and that it is important to take risks, try new things and explore the world around you as this is how we grow. There will be times when things don’t go our way, but with a positive attitude and resilience, anything is possible. Life is meant to be enjoyed so focus on being happy, loving yourself, and creating meaningful relationships with those around you. Remember that I am always here for you no matter what!

I want you to love your siblings no matter what. I know that you argue and sometimes fight about a lot of things now. No matter how much you fight, always remember that family is everything and you need to stay devoted to your family. Your family is number one. You must always take care and support your family. Don’t be disobedient, so I won’t have to lament or say that my 7 yr old son doesn’t listen to me.

You also need to avoid wanting something because someone else has it. I hear you say because Donny has this you want yours too. Don’t be like that J, you need to remain yourself and contented. I will always strive to give you the best, you won’t ever have to wish you were someone else or you had someone else.
You are growing up so fast, and soon enough, you will have all kinds of new adventures ahead of you. Adventures different from father-son activities for 7 year olds and all. But never forget that no matter how far away or how independent you may become in life, my love for you will remain strong. I love seeing the world through your eyes.

Above all else, remember to be kind to yourself. Don’t forget to be kind to others too. Giving back to your community through volunteering or donating in the future especially, will make a big difference in someone else’s life! It might even give you the chance to discover a hidden talent you never knew you had. You can make this world a better place one small action at a time. I will always be here to give you all the support and guide you need. Keep being awesome son.

With love,

Dad.
